Certification of the corrections made to pages 1 and 2

First column is the number of the correction, i.e. 1st correction, 2nd correction etc.

Second column is the type of correction. On line 1 it says Dienstgrad (rank), 2 Geburtsjahr (year of birth) -a strange thing to get wrong the first time).

Third column is page of correction.

Fourth column is date of correction.

Fifth column is unit or Feldpostnummer.

Sixth column is for the signature of the corrector.

Seventh column is for the rank and position of the corrector.

On the example above the first one is a promotion to Oberschütze, signed by Kruegor, the Lt. of the 9./Jäger Regt. 1 Brandenburg Div.

The first line is for the last Wehrmeldeamt (military recruiting reporting station) or RAD assignment.

The first section under B is for the Ersatztruppenteil (replacement/training units), the second column is for the company the Soldat was assigned to, and the third was the number on the unit registry of the Soldat.

The next section, C, is for Feldtruppenteil (field army units), company and registration number.

The last section, D, is for training assignment of the Soldat and the other column is for the location of training.

There are instruction on the bottom that states that it is the Soldat’s responsibility to return/requisition items when retuning from the Feldheer (field army) or Lazarett (hospital).

Also changes in unit assignments are to be made so that the previous assignment can be read. There is room for further entries on page 17.

The first entry is for the wife, if the Soldat is unmarried it can be left blank or ledig (single) should be written in. The wife’s first name and maiden name go on the first line, the second line is for the town she lives in and the region and the third line is for the street name and house number.

The second entry is for the parents. The first line if for the father’s full name, the second is for his occupation (if he is dead there might be a cross with the death year or the word gestorben (dead) with the death year or if he died after the Soldbuch was filled out his name could be crossed out in red and the death year listed. Then comes the mother’s first and maiden name, then the parents town and region and finally the street name

The third entry was only to be filled out when the first or second entries were blank. This entry was for relatives or fiancés. There were spaces for the name, job, town and street address.
